There was a Godzilla movie in 1998 with Matthew Broderick, however, I didn't see that one. From what I understand, the reviews weren't that great and it didn't do well at the box office. It involved Godzilla attacking New York. That sounds like the basic shoot the monster type movie. Anyway, they want to try again. I say make Zilla a good guy! A tortured misunderstood monster who only wants to be understood. Perhaps he only wants to live in peace....
The Old Zilla
The New Zilla!
Then I found this picture.....
I found this trailer and I have to say, Zilla is not good in this one and to my surprise I like what I see. EDIT: I realize it might be fake, but I still like it.

Wish that was real - I recognize at least four different movies in that clip.
However, there IS a Godzilla movie in the making, slated for a 2014 release according to IMDB. Yeah, not holding my breath until then!
You're lucky you skipped the last Godzilla.
The 1998 version sucked. The monster didn't even look like Godzilla. They made him look like a giant iguana or something. Lame.
I think I like when Godzilla is evil better. The original Japanese version was I think supposed to be a statement about nuclear radiation unleashing this horrible monster. Maybe they should just get back to that.
Alex is totally correct. That's a fake trailer made by some people who spliced a bunch of different movie clips together to release a "fan-based" trailer for something that they want to come true.
Basically, be careful of what you see on YouTube. Full of fake a lot of the time. I'm still waiting for a "genuine" Prometheus trailer...lots of fakes online right now.
Guys, That "trailer leaked" text came with the video. Note edit above.
That pic being shown on this page for the trailer is from a scene in the movie "2012".
Denzel Washington in Crimson Tide... I recognize that clip. I'd love to see a new Godzilla movie. And I may be one of the few who kinda liked the 1998 version. More t-rex than godzilla but the babies were cute.
